This week, the question was: What is this weed growing up in the row middles of this strawberry field?

This is curly dock (Rumex crispus). Curly dock is a perennial weed that thrives in wet conditions but is also quite tolerant of drought. It is commonly found in the row middles in strawberry fields, especially in low areas that remain damp for extended periods. Once established, this is a pretty tough weed to get rid of. For management strategies, take a look at the weed management section (starting on page 63) of the 2023 Strawberry IPM guide.
